Welcome to Our Home Page Amateur Radio Stations WB7OKX--Ray & N7WVO--Donna Keno, Oregon
My Work & Retirement For 15 years before retireing on March 1, 1999, I worked at Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon, as the plumber in the Facilities Services department. It has been almost three years now and I am enjoying every minute of my retirement! My Interests and Hobbies I am an Advanced Class Amateur Radio Operator ("ham" as we are called). My radio call-sign is WB7OKX. Computers along with my ham radio hobby and digital amateur radio communications, occupy all of my spare time. I use a two-meter Packet Radio on the VHF bands and Pactor II on the HF bands with a SCS PTC-II DSP Multimode Pactor Controller. We moved to Oregon from southern California in 1976 to get away from the "big city" life. I enjoy hunting, fishing and camping-but mostly, I like to get out in the woods and enjoy the fresh air. Donna's Work, Interests and Hobbies Donna works at the Geo-Heat Center which is located on the campus of Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) as their Office Manager. The Geo-Heat Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. The campus of OIT is heated with geothermal energy and the city of Klamath Falls has a geothermal district heating system. The city's downtown business area also has a unique snow melting system used to keep the sidewalks free of snow during the winter. Donna is a Technicial Class Amateur Radio Operator (N7WVO). She is not as active as I am, but she does talk on the radio to keep in contact with me. I am very proud of her for taking the time to get the license so we may communicate over the VHF and UHF bands. For the last eight years, genealogy has been Donna's true passion. She uses Family Tree Maker software. With the information available now through the internet, our "family tree" numbers over 57,000 names. She also has her own homepage on the Family Tree Maker web site. Please wait for music to finish playing.....
